Alstom wins four-year contract to maintain 3,500+ point machines across Poland

Alstom has signed a four-year agreement with infrastructure manager PKP Polskie Linie Kolejowe (PKP PLK) to carry out periodic inspections and overhauls of more than 3,500 electric point machines across Poland. This contract aims to enhance the reliability and efficiency of the country’s railway infrastructure.

The scope of the contract includes regular maintenance services, ensuring that the point machines operate effectively and meet safety standards. Alstom will leverage its expertise in railway technology to provide high-quality service throughout the duration of the agreement.

PKP PLK is responsible for managing the railway infrastructure in Poland, and this partnership is expected to contribute to the modernization of the rail network. The maintenance of point machines is critical for the smooth operation of train services, as these devices control the direction of trains at junctions.

Alstom’s commitment to maintaining these point machines aligns with its broader strategy to support sustainable and efficient rail transport solutions. The company has a strong presence in the Polish market and aims to strengthen its role as a key player in the region’s railway sector.

This contract is part of a larger trend in the rail industry, where infrastructure managers are increasingly focusing on maintenance and upgrades to ensure safety and reliability. As rail networks expand and modernize, the demand for specialized maintenance services is expected to grow.

Alstom’s experience and technological capabilities position it well to meet the challenges of this contract. The company has previously undertaken similar projects in various countries, demonstrating its ability to deliver effective maintenance solutions.

The agreement with PKP PLK marks a significant milestone for Alstom in Poland and reflects the company’s ongoing commitment to enhancing rail infrastructure across Europe.
