DB to Begin Modernisation of the Berlin–Hanover Corridor This Fall

Deutsche Bahn (DB) InfraGO plans to initiate modernisation work on the 221-kilometer Berlin–Hanover corridor in October 2023. This project aims to enhance the infrastructure along one of Germany's key rail routes, which connects the capital city of Berlin with Hanover, a major industrial hub.

The modernisation will involve upgrades to tracks, signaling systems, and station facilities, which are expected to improve both passenger and freight services. DB has not disclosed the total investment amount for this project, but similar initiatives in the past have typically involved multi-million euro budgets.

Passengers using this corridor will likely experience improved travel times and increased service reliability once the upgrades are completed.
