MRT-7: Manila’s Northern Metro Lifeline on the Horizon
The MRT-7 project in Manila is progressing towards becoming a critical transportation link for the northern regions of the city. This project aims to enhance connectivity and reduce congestion in the metropolitan area.
As of now, partial operations of the MRT-7 are anticipated to commence in late 2025 or early 2026. The full operational capacity, including integration with the common station, is targeted for completion in 2027.
The MRT-7 line will span approximately 22 kilometers, connecting North Avenue in Quezon City to San Jose del Monte in Bulacan. It is expected to serve around 300,000 passengers daily, significantly improving travel times across the region.
The project is being developed by the San Miguel Corporation, which has invested heavily in the infrastructure to ensure timely completion. The MRT-7 will feature 14 stations, with modern facilities designed to accommodate the growing population in the northern suburbs.
In addition to enhancing public transport, the MRT-7 is expected to stimulate economic growth in the areas it serves, providing easier access to jobs and services. The integration with existing transport systems will further facilitate seamless travel for commuters.
As the project moves forward, stakeholders are closely monitoring its progress to ensure it meets the outlined timelines and operational standards.
