The first TGV-M trains will begin a pre-commercial testing phase on the French rail network this summer, with the first passenger services expected to start in early September 2026. SNCF Voyageurs and Alstom initiated a comprehensive certification and testing program in 2023, culminating in the submission of the complete approval dossier in December 2025. The ERA's assessment of this dossier has now paved the way for the first deliveries of TGV-M trains, which are set to begin in June 2026. The deployment schedule indicates that two trainsets will be delivered initially, with the fleet expected to expand to six by the end of August and 13 by year-end.
Prior to the official launch, the TGV-M trains will undergo extensive pre-commercial operations, allowing operational staff to familiarize themselves with the new technology and validate the onboard experience. This phase will involve hundreds of employees from both SNCF Voyageurs and Alstom, ensuring a smooth transition into regular service.

He expressed confidence in the successful commercial introduction of the TGV-M, which is expected to enhance the high-speed rail offerings in France.
